About Potting Sheds

We sell potting sheds and garden buildings to people who actually grow things. Every shed we list has a bright working side and somewhere to lock the tools away.

Who we are

Potting Sheds is the trading name of Circle Online Limited. We sell online only, from Blackbrook Hall in Lichfield, Staffordshire.

We are a specialist, not a general garden retailer. We stock one type of building and we know it properly.

What we look for in a shed

A potting shed has to do four things well. Get those right and the building earns its keep every week of the year.

  • Light over the bench so you can see what you are sowing
  • A bench at standing height instead of a stoop over a low shelf
  • Timber that takes soil, water and frost without going soft
  • A door and a lock that still work properly in year five

The two ranges we stock

We carry Swallow and Power. They sit at opposite ends of the market and suit different jobs.

Hand-made, then fitted

Swallow buildings are made by hand in ThermoWood, then brought to you and put up on your base. The team hangs the door, fits the glazing and squares the frame. You get a workspace ready to use, not a flat pack to wrestle.

Installation is included in the Swallow price. Delivery and fitting happen within 8 to 12 weeks of you confirming the base is ready.

A word about bases

Lay the base before delivery day. It needs to be flat, dry and fully slabbed or concreted. Build it to the minimum size given on the product page. A level base keeps the shed square, the door swinging true and the timber off wet ground. In our experience it is the one thing that most often holds up a fit.

Access for the fitting team

Swallow fitters need clear access to the site. A Cygnet, Jay or Kingfisher needs at least 2032mm of height. A Mallard, Swan, Raven, Rook, Falcon or Eagle needs 2672mm. Those larger buildings cannot be carried through a property. Plan a run with no right-angle turns, and measure everything in millimetres.

Colour and finish

Swallow sheds come natural as standard. An oiled finish adds £352. Ten sprayed colours are available at £880, among them Lily White, Olive, Purbeck Stone and Lulworth Blue. Custom shades are colour matched in Swallow's own paint shop for an extra cost. Power sheds arrive dip treated, ready for you to paint or stain.

Delivery, payment and returns

UK mainland delivery is free on every order. Power sheds arrive within 5 to 7 working days, Northern Ireland included, kerbside only. Some outlying Scottish postcodes carry an extra charge on Swallow buildings. That charge is shown as an option before you order.

We take credit cards, debit cards and PayPal. You have 30 days from delivery to return an unused item in its original packaging.

Advice, not sales patter

Matt W writes our journal. It covers sizing, siting, bases, fitting out and yearly care. Our questions page answers the ones we get asked most. If you would rather talk it through, ring us instead.

Talk to us

Call 0800 368 8590, free to ring, or email [email protected]. We would sooner spend ten minutes on the phone than take back a shed of the wrong size.

Thank you for buying a building you will work in, rather than one you will fill with bicycles.
